Read MoreOn Friday 15th December the Biz Club held its Geoffrey Pointon Entrepreneur of the Year Award Luncheon, and what a fabulous day it was for all. Over 60 guests were in attendance at the Luncheon hosted by The Falcon in Uppingham.
The winner of the award, Mark Batty of Lawnscience (based in Langham), was delighted when Dr Sarah Furness, Lord-Lieutenant of Rutland, and Speaker Geoffrey Thompson, ex-High Sherriff of Rutland presented the award.
This is a brilliant celebration of the hard work and obstacles Mark has overcome, and a well deserved recognition of his accomplishments. Winning the Geoffrey Pointon Entrepreneur of the Year (2023) award has given Mark’s business a massive boost in terms of a £2,000 contribution from sponsors, Quibble’s Marketing.
As the new chair of the Biz Club, Mark Shaw said “this was a fabulous award and the Biz Club sincerely hopes this award will have a positive impact on the future of Lawnscience. The club also hopes to work with Mark and provide some ongoing business mentoring. Watch this space and we look forward to more good news from Mark and Lawnscience.”
Thanks to Michelle Begy of Ignite Dating, runner-up, who said “Thank you so much once again for this amazing opportunity and it was great to be part of the awards”.
Oliver Hemsley, Membership Development Executive of Rutland Chamber of Commerce, added: “On behalf of the Chamber, we are delighted that a Member has won the Geoffrey Pointon Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2023. This is a brilliant and well deserved achievement, congratulations Mark.”
